Plate: the nerve and the sleep cycle

Plate VIII.

In plain words

Three products, for nerves and for sleep.

Food supplements, not painkillers and not sleeping tablets. Two of them carry an authorised European sentence about the nervous system, which comes from their B vitamins. The third carries none at all and is described by its composition.

Doloriva OD

Capsule, 30

Cytidine and uridine monophosphate at 30 mg each, with vitamins B1, B6, B12 and folate.

Kartera

Film-coated tablet, 30

Three standardised plant extracts: ashwagandha 100 mg, bacopa 30 mg and nardostachys 15 mg.

Reincarn Night Reboot

Oral powder sachet, 7

Seven ingredients in a 5 g sachet, including 3,000 mg of glycine and 300 mg of ashwagandha root extract. No melatonin, and that is deliberate.

How many, and when

One capsule daily for Doloriva OD. For Kartera and Night Reboot the daily amount is on the carton and not yet on this page.

What these will not do

None of these treats nerve damage and none of them is a sedative. If sleep has been broken for more than a few weeks, or if there is numbness, burning or pain in the hands or feet, those are things to have investigated rather than things to supplement. The person to see is a doctor. Ashwagandha also has a caution: several European regulators have looked at liver and thyroid signals with it, so it is not the right thing to take alongside thyroid medication without asking first.

00 / The nerve and the sleep cycle

Europe authorises one sleep claim
and it belongs to melatonin.

There is exactly one authorised European claim about falling asleep. It requires one milligram of melatonin taken close to bedtime. Reincarn Night Reboot contains no melatonin at all, deliberately, and says so on the front of the box. So the one sentence in this field that we could quote is the one sentence this product has designed itself out of.

01 / What is authorised

The nerve is well served. Sleep is not.

For the nervous system the register is generous, because the B vitamins have been assessed and the evidence held. For sleep it is almost empty. That asymmetry is the shape of this segment and it decides what each of the three products below is allowed to be.

Vitamin B6 contributes to normal functioning of the nervous system

Thiamine contributes to the normal function of the nervous system

Vitamin B12 contributes to normal functioning of the nervous system

Vitamin B6 contributes to normal psychological function

Vitamin B12 contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue

Vitamin D contributes to the normal function of the immune system

Ashwagandha, bacopa and jatamansi carry no authorised European claim. All three sit on the on-hold list, and the route that let companies use on-hold claims anyway was closed by the Court of Justice in April 2025. Glycine has none either, at any dose.

02 / The three

Two carry a sentence. One carries none.

01

Doloriva OD, 30 capsules

Doloriva OD

Capsule · 30 · one daily

Cytidine monophosphate 30 mg and uridine monophosphate 30 mg, with vitamin B1 1.1 mg, vitamin B6 1.4 mg, vitamin B12 4 mcg and vitamin D3 600 IU. Vitamin B6 and vitamin B12 each contribute to normal functioning of the nervous system. Thiamine contributes to the normal function of the nervous system. Vitamin D contributes to the normal function of the immune system.

Not claimed: anything for the nucleotides, which carry no authorised European wording. The brand name is under review, because a name built on the Latin for pain sits close to a medicinal claim.

02

Kartera, 30 tablets

Kartera

Film-coated tablet · 30

Three standardised plant extracts: Withania somnifera 100 mg, Bacopa monnieri 30 mg and Nardostachys jatamansi 15 mg.

No claim. All three are on the European on-hold list, so we give the botanical name, the part used and the amount, and stop. Not recommended in pregnancy or lactation.

03

Reincarn Night Reboot, 7 sachets

Reincarn Night Reboot

Oral powder sachet · 7 × 5 g

Seven ingredients in a 5 g sachet, including 3,000 mg of glycine and 300 mg of ashwagandha root extract. Melatonin free, and that is a formulation fact rather than a claim.

Designed and marketed in India, where the permitted language differs. The Indian copy describes sleep architecture, cortisol and the body’s own melatonin production. None of that survives European law, and none of it appears here.

04 / What is in them

Two formulated to the line. One formulated to nothing.

Doloriva is built to the reference value and not past it. Its thiamin sits at 1.1 milligrams and its vitamin B6 at 1.4, which are not round numbers chosen for a label but the exact European reference amounts. That is a deliberate way to formulate and it is the reason the authorised sentence on this page is available at all. Kartera is the opposite case: three extracts, quantified and standardised, and no permitted wording for any of them.

Three botanicals on the European Commission on-hold list. They may be named and quantified and nothing may be claimed for them. Two things belong beside that. Several European regulators have examined liver and thyroid signals with ashwagandha, so it is not the right thing to take alongside thyroid medication without asking first. And Nardostachys jatamansi is listed on Appendix II of CITES, which makes where it comes from a question we should be able to answer and are working on.

The one we cannot print

Reincarn Night Reboot appears on this page and is not in our composition register. Until it is, there is no table for it here.

03 / The line

What may a sachet not promise?

None of these may be said to improve sleep quality, deepen sleep, restore sleep architecture, lower cortisol, calm the nervous system or relieve pain. Insomnia and neuropathy are classified conditions. The authorised vocabulary here is narrow and it is about normal function, not about better function, and the difference is the whole of the law.

If sleep is broken for more than a few weeks, or if there is numbness, burning or pain in the hands or feet, the person to see is a doctor. Those are things to investigate, not things to supplement around.
