Every claim
we have taken back.
This page lists every claim Zandra has changed, narrowed or withdrawn since this site was written, with the date and the reason. It exists because a company that publishes only what it already does is describing itself rather than holding itself to anything.
Most of the entries below were found by us. Several of them would not have been found by you, because they turn on arithmetic nobody performs at a shelf: a threshold missed by five per cent, a molecular weight, a substance named in one Annex and not in another. Those are the ones that make this page worth keeping.

The soil selenium line

Was · Selenium-poor soils across much of Eastern Europe.
Now · Soil selenium varies widely between regions, and a systematic review found intakes across Eastern Europe lower than in Western Europe.
Why · We could not source it. We looked for a soil survey covering Ukraine, Georgia or Uzbekistan and found none, and every promising result for Georgia turns out to be the American state. Asserting a population shortfall to justify a supplement is also restricted in its own right.

The iodine line

Was · Iodine where the diet does not supply it.
Now · Iodine contributes to the normal production of thyroid hormones.
Why · A supplement may not suggest that an ordinary varied diet cannot supply what a person needs. Six words, and it was the clearest breach on the page.

The vitamin K claim on Osteocor Ca

Was · Vitamin K contributes to the maintenance of normal bones, at one capsule a day.
Now · The same claim, at a declared daily portion of two capsules.
Why · 7.5 micrograms of menaquinone-7 is ten per cent of the European reference value. The threshold that permits any vitamin K claim is fifteen. Ten is not fifteen, so we changed the portion rather than the sentence.

The folate claim on Oprega

Was · The Article 14 claim about maternal folate status and a risk in early development.
Now · Not used. The general folate claims are used instead.
Why · The condition of use requires 400 micrograms of folic acid. Oprega carries 400 micrograms of calcium L-methylfolate, which European law lists as a separate substance and which works out at roughly 355 micrograms of folic acid on a molar basis. We are short of a threshold, and short of a substance the capsule does not contain.

DetriX 5600

Now · Not listed, and not presented in Europe.
Why · 5,600 IU is 140 micrograms. The European tolerable upper intake level for adults is 100.

The prescription row

Was · A portfolio row naming our isotretinoin brand, and a sentence describing what the drug does.
Now · A statement on the Values page that one prescription medicine exists, is supplied only through the professional channel, and is not described on this site.
Why · Advertising a prescription-only medicine to the general public is prohibited in every market we sell in. A line saying professional channel only is not a barrier; an open web address is a public communication however it is captioned.

The depletion frame

Was · Four things deplete a system. If a product does not restore something depleted, it is not a Zandra product.
Now · Four things raise what a system needs.
Why · The old frame argued that four forces deplete you and that we sell the replacement, which is an assertion about the adequacy of an ordinary diet. The new frame argues raised requirement in identified circumstances, which is a physiological fact. The argument survived; the presupposition did not.

Why · Indian advertising rules prohibit wording that implies recommendation or approval by health professionals. This one we changed reluctantly.

Now · The hair cycle.
Why · Growth of new hair is a named entry in Schedule J to the Indian Drugs and Cosmetics Rules. One word, no loss of meaning, and it keeps a food from being characterised as an unlicensed drug.

The typeface, in two of our languages

Was · Mona Sans, Martian Mono and EB Garamond carry no Georgian, and Mona Sans carries no Cyrillic. Ukrainian and Georgian readers saw a substitute face chosen by their browser.
Now · Each family is extended by character range, so Latin renders in the brand face, Cyrillic in Noto Sans and Georgian in Noto Sans Georgian and Noto Serif Georgian, weight-matched to the original.
Why · The design existed in English and did not exist in two of the four markets it was made for. Nobody looking at an English browser could see it, which is exactly the kind of fault this page is for.

The ingredient we could not place

Was · Dynamin Forte contained 2-amino-5-hydroxybenzoic acid, and we could not establish its legal basis for use in a European food supplement.
Now · It has been removed. The reformulated capsule carries seven amino acids and eleven vitamins and nothing else.
Why · We asked the manufacturer in writing and did not get an answer we could stand behind. An ingredient we cannot justify is an ingredient we take out, not one we defend.

Salt weight or nutrient weight

Was · Three figures in our own tables where we could not tell whether the number was the compound or the nutrient inside it. Iron in two hair products, magnesium in Acnexa, vitamin E in Alpha Biselen.
Now · Confirmed as the nutrient in every case. The iron figures of 20 and 30 milligrams are elemental iron, the magnesium is elemental magnesium, and the tables were right. What was wrong was our confidence in them.
Why · We raised it because the specification did not say, and a number nobody can check is not a number we should print. The answer came back the way we hoped. We are recording it here because the question was published and the answer has to be too.

The selenium in Intense

Was · L-selenomethionine, which we published after being told verbally that the form had changed.
Now · Sodium selenite, which is what the approved composition says.
Why · We had the better form on the page and the paperwork did not support it. When a specification and a conversation disagree, the specification is the document that would be produced in an inspection, so the specification wins and the page changes back. If a revised specification says selenomethionine, we will change it again the same day and record that too.

Why · We have no pharmacy route in India, where we sell online only. The earlier wording applied one sentence to four markets and was wrong about the fourth.

Not a pharmaceutical company

Was · We are not a pharmaceutical company and nothing we make is a medicine.
Now · Everything on this website is a food supplement or a cosmetic. Zandra also markets prescription medicines, both under our own brand and in-licensed from other manufacturers, and they are not shown here.
Why · The sentence was false in both halves. We market a prescription dermatology brand of our own and we distribute in-licensed medicines including an oncology and haematology range. The sentence was written to describe what this website sells and it described the company instead. Medicines stay off the site because advertising a prescription medicine to the public is not permitted in any of our four markets, which is a reason to leave them out and not a reason to deny they exist.

The word treat

Why · A product presented as having properties for treating disease is a medicinal product under Article 1 of Directive 2001/83, whatever is in it, and Article 7 of Regulation 1169/2011 prohibits attributing that property to a food in advertising as well as on the label. Four of our own product pages state this rule. The definitions section on the home page broke it, in the one place on this site whose whole purpose is to use words precisely. It was the only affirmative use of the word on the site. Every other mention is a denial.

Known to be wrong, not yet fixed.
These are corrections we have identified and cannot complete today, mostly because they need a print run or an answer from a manufacturer. They stay here until they are closed, and each one carries what it is waiting on.
Acnexa carton
The carton carries the word hypoallergenic and a reference to a United States FDA registered facility. Neither survives scrutiny: hypoallergenic requires evidence of a genuinely minimised allergy risk, and a facility registration is an administrative record rather than an approval.

Aquatopic and Acnexa face wash, ingredient lists
Both print supplier trade names in place of the common ingredient names required by law. The face wash is also missing the mandatory warning that salicylic acid products of this type are not to be used for children under three years of age.

The English reads Active Folic Acid (L-methylfolate). It is not folic acid. The Ukrainian on the same carton says active folate, which is correct.

Longimin, the curcumin preparation
The encapsulation and particle size reduction process used for Maxicuma may make it a novel food requiring authorisation. We have asked the supplier for its status assessment.

Certificate numbers on the Manufacturing page
The page names thirteen manufacturers and the standards they hold. One of the thirteen, Siddhayu, now carries its certificate numbers, issuing body, scope and expiry dates in full. The other twelve do not yet, and until they do that page is a list rather than a register. Certificates are being requested manufacturer by manufacturer.

Market figures on the About page
The Standing section states three figures taken from independent prescription audits by Proxima Research. Two permissions are outstanding before this site is published. Proxima has not yet given written consent to reproduce the figures, and Ukrainian counsel has not yet confirmed whether Article 39 of the Law on Food Safety and Quality requires the wording to be agreed with the Ministry of Health in advance. The section is built and is not published until both are settled.

A ranking we were given and did not use
We were told that one supplement brand stood eighth by dermatologist recommendation in Uzbekistan. The same dashboard reports the position as eleventh, with the eighth place belonging to the previous year and share down twenty-seven per cent since. The figure is not on this site and will not be until the source is reconciled. It is recorded here because a number nearly published is worth the same disclosure as one published in error.

Maxibalance strain designations
The composition published on the flora page names two species but not their strain designations or culture collection deposit numbers. We ask practitioners to reject an unnamed strain, and ours is currently unnamed. The manufacturer has been asked.

Two loose ends on the same question
The amounts are settled and have moved to the record above. Two smaller things are not. The vitamin E in Alpha Biselen is specified as fifty per cent beadlets without saying whether the tocopheryl acetate is the natural RRR form or the synthetic all-rac one, and at the same milligram those are not the same thing. And the magnesium bisglycinate in Acnexa would need over five hundred milligrams of raw material to deliver seventy-five of magnesium, which is a large fill for a capsule already carrying two hundred and fifty of extracts, so we have asked whether the grade is pure or buffered. A buffered grade contains magnesium oxide, and we have said in public that we do not use it.

How much to take, missing from most pages
Every product page now opens with a plain summary, and each of those summaries has a line headed how many and when. On several pages that line currently says the daily amount is on the carton and not yet on this page. That is accurate and it is not good enough. The pages carrying the gap are hair, the skin barrier, defences, flora in part and nerve in part. We are transcribing the directions from the approved artwork for each carton rather than from memory, which is why it is taking longer than it should, and no page will state a dose until the artwork it came from has been checked.

What the DetriX Advance carrier is worth
The supplier has provided a full technical dossier for d-lipo, including electron microscopy, particle sizing at 97 nanometres, a zeta potential of minus 35 millivolts and a Caco-2 permeability study reporting twice the apparent permeability of a non-liposomal comparator. We have described the material on the bone page and we have not repeated the permeability figure, for four reasons. The study was funded by the company that makes the ingredient. It reports no replicates, no standard deviations and no statistical test. Caco-2 is a cell monolayer screening model rather than a measure of what happens in a person. And vitamin D3 is absorbed by micellar solubilisation with bile salts into chylomicrons, which is not the route a Ringer solution on a cell layer reproduces. We would want a human study measuring serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D before we said anything about absorption, and we have asked whether one exists.
